Hunger Program

Feeding people is a big part of what we do and who we are.

Food Pantry 1547In the Bible, Jesus commands us to feed all of God’s people. So, we created two programs to help feed hungry people in New York City, and now we find ourselves feeding hundreds of people every week.

First, on Wednesday evenings, we serve a delicious (truly delicious- real chefs are in charge!) community dinner at the church from 6-7pm. Volunteers are needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean from 3-7:30pm. As a volunteer, you get to eat the delicious food. If you simply want to eat, please come and feast!

Secondly, we turn our sanctuary into a food pantry on Thursdays.  We distribute groceries from the church from 8am-3pm. Volunteers are needed from 8am-3pm. You are welcome to join us!  Please email our volunteer coordinator CB Stewart at cb@greenpointchurch.org if you are interested.

Greenpoint Wed March 2012 4There are no requirements to participate. All people are welcome regardless of their faith background or economic situation. We do not require a reference or identification. Just come and enjoy some food.
