Maria’s work at Greenpoint includes coordinating the sharing of our space with 12 Step Programs, the Hunger Program, Community Outreach and Social Events. She is also the supervising chef for our Wednesday night Soup Kitchen meals.

Maria is a chef and small business owner, who has lived in Williamsburg and Greenpoint for 20 years. Her lunch shop and catering company The Halcyon Gourmet was a staple in the community for 10 years, providing healthy and delicious meals for photo shoots, business meetings and private dinner parties, as well as full service catering and staffing for large corporate events, bar mitzvahs and weddings. Maria is also a private chef to several celebrity clients. Her specialized, healthy cooking plans have helped Hollywood’s A-list actors prepare for body transforming roles in a safe and holistic manner. Maria uses these skills, along with her many years of restaurant cooking to provide healthy, delicious meals for our Soup Kitchen guests.
